About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with strong expertise in data privacy, intellectual property, and AI-related legal matters to support our international operations across Europe, the USA, and Latin America. The role will also cover corporate and commercial legal work in a fast-paced, innovative technology environment.
This position reports to the General Counsel (Head of Legal) and requires a blend of strategic legal thinking, practical business judgment, and collaborative engagement.

The Quest:
- Lead and manage legal work in privacy, data protection, and AI compliance, including program design and internal awareness initiatives.
- Oversee intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark portfolio management, licensing, and IP due diligence.
- Advise on and negotiate a broad range of technology and commercial contracts: MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, and AI collaboration agreements.
- Partner with product, tech, and data teams to ensure AI systems and software meet legal and ethical standards.
- Support regulatory strategy and compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide cross-functional legal support to business, product, HR, and marketing teams.
- Collaborate closely with and report to the General Counsel, contributing to legal strategy and team development.
The Skills:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally combining law firm practice (technology, IP, or privacy teams) and in-house legal experience within a technology-driven industry, such as software, gaming, digital media, or IT services. You bring both solid legal expertise and strong interpersonal judgment in areas such as:
- Data Protection & Privacy – Advanced knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other global data protection laws; experience drafting and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), advising on privacy policies, data transfer mechanisms, consents, and managing privacy incidents.
- Intellectual Property & Technology Transactions – Managing IP portfolios (copyrights, trademarks), advising on software licensing, content ownership, open-source compliance, and AI training data.
- AI Governance & Compliance – Familiarity with AI regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, US/UK initiatives); assessing and mitigating risks related to AI model development, transparency, and ethical deployment.
- Commercial Agreements – Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts such as software development, publishing, vendor, and partnership agreements.
- Cross-Border Transactions – Experience with M&A, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
- Collaborative Legal Support – Providing clear, business-oriented legal advice across teams and functions.
- LL.B. or J.D. from a top law school (international or postgraduate education is a plus).
- Admitted to practice law in Romania (Bucharest Bar) or equivalent jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of GDPR, IP law, and AI legal frameworks.
